I do love my waist-length mane, dry though it may be. It’s just that years of having it lengthy has seriously bored me.

A short hairstyle was what I sported back in college, and I want it again now. And I mean VERRRRRY short.

ACK! OH I SOOOO ADORE THESE LOOKS!!!

But my hair has this cursed natural wave and volume, so I might not be able to pull off such cuts as these. I think these styles need thin hair that can easily be whipped into the short, untamed, bedhead look with mousse or styling thingamajigs. I am hoping nonetheless. Still hoping.

I am also known as THE BOGEYWOMAN, by the way.

Early in the morning, I’d hear my name being yelled out loud. (What a way to wake up, huh? Never a need for alarm clocks then.) Upon checking out what the ruckus is all about, I learn my kid brothers are at it again, being boys and doing what little boys at their age do: disobeying their parents and being major pain in the ass. And so my name was being used in our household to terrify them. “Susumbong kita kay Achi, Lagot ka kay Ate Anne, Hala ka, andiyan na si Ate Anne!”

Hence, my lovely, feminine name’s synonymy with a title as gruesome as The Bogeyman.

All I ever do is open the door to the kids’ room, glance at them, sometimes stare, and for the rest of the day, THEY BEHAVE THEIR LITTLE ASSES.

I was not even aware I have this powerful gaze— Hah! Beat you there again, Superman— but sure as shit, it’s effective alright! (I lurveeeet)

Without raising my voice or using my hag face, I reduce my 3-year old baby brother to tears and silence when I was only teaching him to count. Big reaction coming from a hard-headed, ultra-hyperactive toddler. Even my 10-year old stepbrother exhibits the same terrified response. (I lurveeet more) Mean? Me? Hell yeah.

Yes, I have that effect on children ages two to twelve, making me effective as a bully— errr, I mean teacher. My aunt’s same as me. I bet it runs in the blood. XD

I could, also, write a book, ya know. HOW TO SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF KIDDIES— how’s that sound?

But.. *sigh* I do miss the miniature Homo Sapiens I frequently terrorize from June until the end of March.

My ass could have been parked in a comfy chair at some cozy coffee shop or bar in Makati by now, as I waited for 8 pm to head off for our gig tonight, BUT NOOOO! Because here I am, still in the office, still freaking checking more essays that were sent to me some minutes ago.

And the fact that these essays are darned looong AND mind-boggling does not help my exasperation AT ALL.
